Metra
Martech is working with PMSI, a small (~30 staff) but rapidly growing strategic
consultancy, based primarily in North London. A unique feature of the PMSI
approach is the ability to leverage data as a basis for fact-based commercial
decisions, and to provide an ongoing information service as well as just a
one-off analysis. PMSI offer an exciting alternative to the mainstream
consulting competitors, based on a high level of exposure to partners / senior
managers, a talented yet supportive peer group, less time “on the road” than is
the norm, and rapid career progression for those with the ability and energy to
make it happen.
There
are three functional groups within PMSI:
Consulting
- who deliver Strategic Consulting, M&A and Research services
Information Technology
- who develop proprietary software tools
Data Management & Analysis
- who deliver Data Intelligence services
You
will be working in the core Consulting group. On each project, you will
work in a small team of other Consultants and Analysts to solve the client's
commercial issues. Your responsibilities will include data analysis, telephone
interviewing, presentation creation / delivery, and supervising work undertaken
by our Analysts. You will be based at in North London, although some travel in
the UK and abroad will also be required.
You will:

Have a strong commercial focus, with the ability to retain a
helicopter view of a business issue, whilst also ensuring that the detail is
correct.

Be a good communicator, with strong interpersonal skills.
You should have the ability to package complex information and concepts in a
way that leads senior client management through the story of our findings, but
also able to develop a rapport with less senior staff who work “at the
coalface”.

Be proactive in taking responsibility for an area of work,
and able to work to tight deadlines while maintaining the quality of your work.
This should be combined with a genuine intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm to
dig down and find the real solution to a business issue.

Be highly numerate, and comfortable in drawing commercial
conclusions from extensive and disparate data sources. You may therefore be a
power user of Excel.

Hold a good first degree from a leading university, plus 3-5
years’ experience in a strategic planning, commercial, or marketing role within
a blue chip corporate environment. Fluency in an additional language is also
desirable (ideally French), reflecting the international nature of our
assignments.
